Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Hong Kong.

Relations between China and the Netherlands are intense and varied. Their importance is growing in line with the raising impact of China on the world. Hong Kong continues to play its role as bridge between West and East, and serves as a stepping stone for Dutch companies interested in China. Hong Kong is also important for Chinese companies wanting to do business with the Netherlands, or in Europe via the Netherlands.

My staff and I are engaged in all the regular diplomatic work, but the focus is on consular and on economic matters. In addition to the general economic section we also have an agricultural department and a representative of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency. Soon we will share a colleague from the Science and Technology section with the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Guangzhou.

We of course work closely together with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (situated in the same building as the Consulate General) and our many partner organisations, in the Netherlands, in China and in Hong Kong.
